We finally made it home late last night after a long day of traveling. Everything went smoothly: getting up, packing, loading the car, checking out, breakfast at the Floridian on Las Olas, fill up with gas, disassemble and pack Golda’s travel cage, rental return, airline check-in, TSA screening (No private room this time. They just looked at the cage and said “Yeah, OK.”), waiting and waiting, stuffed onto a super-loaded plane to Atlanta (No waiting there. Barely enough time to pee.), then another super-loaded plane to SFO, wait for the luggage, and then Mr. Hafiz’s 80 mph cab ride home. It was just a long damn eighteen hour day, and we were practically immobilized for at least half of it.
Golda’s flight cage has to fit under the seat.
We were happy to be home. Dinkel was waiting for us at the door. We said hello, dropped our stuff, and Olga jumped in the car and drove to the Safeway to get a bottle of champagne before they closed up at 11PM. When she got back, we sat down on the couch, turned on the TV, and promptly fell asleep. Oh well, champagne for breakfast I guess.
